Open to those passionate about traditional music, the project welcomes musicians who want to develop their skills &#8211; whether they aspire to a full-time career in music or hope to incorporate it into their future work and creative pursuits. The group will come together to rehearse, arrange, and perform a dynamic programme of traditional music and song. Over the course of a\u00a0<span class=\"s1\"><b>two-week professional summer tour<\/b><\/span>, they will showcase their music in a variety of settings, from community venues to major festivals and ticketed events.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"caret-color: #000000;\">Our 2026 Ceilidh Trail is part funded\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span style=\"caret-color: #000000; color: #000000; font-size: 17.6px;\">by Renfrewshire Council\u2019s Culture, Heritage and Events Fund. Performance Opportunities<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">Before the tour begins, the group will rehearse together under the guidance of professional musicians from <span class=\"s1\"><b>F\u00e8is Ph\u00e0islig<\/b><\/span>. They will also take part in an <span class=\"s1\"><b>intensive training week<\/b><\/span>, consisting of five full days of rehearsals, where they will refine their set, develop their stagecraft, and collaborate with fellow musicians under the mentorship of experienced tutors.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">This experience provides a <span class=\"s1\"><b>unique opportunity<\/b><\/span> to develop essential skills for a career in the creative industries, particularly in music. Auditions will take place on <span class=\"s1\"><b>Sunday 15th March at The Wynd Centre, Paisley<\/b><\/span>, with applicants invited to attend <em>either<\/em> a morning or afternoon session.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The audition will consist of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Individual Performance:<\/b><\/span> Prepare two contrasting pieces\/sets on your main instrument. If you play a second instrument, you can also prepare one additional piece.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Group Task:<\/b><\/span> Work with other applicants to arrange and perform a tune or song, reflecting the collaborative nature of the Ceilidh Trail.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Short Interview:<\/b><\/span> A chance for you to tell us about your musical experience and why you\u2019d like to be involved in the project.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p3\">We understand auditions can feel nerve-wracking but we aim to make the process as relaxed and enjoyable as possible. Open to those passionate about traditional music, the project welcomes musicians who want to develop their skills - whether they aspire to a full-time career in music or hope to incorporate it into their future work and creative pursuits. The group will come together to rehearse, arrange, and perform a dynamic programme of traditional music and song. Over the course of a\u00a0<b>two-week professional summer tour<\/b>, they will showcase their music in a variety of settings, from community venues to major festivals and ticketed events.<\/p> <p>Our 2026 Ceilidh Trail is part funded\u00a0by Renfrewshire Council\u2019s Culture, Heritage and Events Fund. A huge thank you to Renfrewshire Council for their support.<\/p>\n<h3>Skills &amp; Experience<\/h3> <p>As part of the <b>Ceilidh Trail<\/b>, participants will gain valuable hands-on experience and develop a range of key skills, including:<\/p> <ul> <li>Playing for <b>ceilidh dancing<\/b> and learning how to <b>call dances<\/b><\/li> <li>Enhancing <b>arranging skills<\/b> and developing confidence in <b>stagecraft<\/b><b><\/b><\/li> <li>Developing <b>Gaelic language skills<\/b> and learning to introduce sets bilingually<\/li> <li>Setting up and using\u00a0<b>PA systems<\/b>\u00a0and sound equipment for live performances<\/li> <li>Understanding the role of <b>music within the community<\/b> and adapting performances for different audiences<\/li> <li>Meeting and collaborating with <b>other aspiring young musicians<\/b><b><\/b><\/li> <li>Receiving a <b>competitive weekly wage<\/b>, with all reasonable expenses reimbursed<\/li> <\/ul>\n[gallery columns=\"4\" ids=\"14580,14582,14584,14586\"]\n<h3>Training &amp; Performance Opportunities<\/h3> <p>Before the tour begins, the group will rehearse together under the guidance of professional musicians from <b>F\u00e8is Ph\u00e0islig<\/b>. They will also take part in an <b>intensive training week<\/b>, consisting of five full days of rehearsals, where they will refine their set, develop their stagecraft, and collaborate with fellow musicians under the mentorship of experienced tutors.<\/p> <p>This experience provides a <b>unique opportunity<\/b> to develop essential skills for a career in the creative industries, particularly in music. Auditions will take place on <b>Sunday 15th March at The Wynd Centre, Paisley<\/b>, with applicants invited to attend <em>either<\/em> a morning or afternoon session.<\/p> <p>The audition will consist of:<\/p> <ul> <li><b>Individual Performance:<\/b> Prepare two contrasting pieces\/sets on your main instrument.
