We\u2019re looking for a singer\/songwriter to create something upbeat, joyful, and easy for everyone to sing along with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are looking for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>One original Gaelic song<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fun and upbeat in style, with a <strong>memorable refrain<\/strong> and\/or vocables that an audience can easily learn and sing along with.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A piece that reflects the <strong>journey, ethos and impact<\/strong> of F\u00e8is Ph\u00e0islig &#8211; not literally by naming us, but by capturing the sense of community, energy and celebration that has marked our first decade.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The song will be premiered at our <strong>10-Year Anniversary Concert in Paisley Town Hall on Saturday 7 February 2026<\/strong>, performed by all participating artists and young people as the finale to the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fee:<\/strong> A flat commission fee of <strong>\u00a3500 (inclusive)<\/strong>, covering composition, written lyrics and melody, and a simple demo recording (voice note or equivalent). No additional budget will be provided for studio sessions or instrumentalists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What to submit:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A short outline of your idea for the song (no more than one page).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Links to, or a short written description of, your previous songwriting work<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any other information that shows your experience in writing original material.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Expectations:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Delivery of <strong>one original Gaelic song<\/strong> (minimum 2-3 minutes)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide a<strong> demo recording <\/strong>of the song &#8211; this could be as simple as a phone voice note of the melody and lyrics, but if you\u2019re able to provide a fuller recording that\u2019s also welcome (no studio recording required).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Written lyrics<\/strong>, <strong>with English translation, and melody <\/strong>must be included so our team can use them for rehearsals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Willingness to work with the F\u00e8is Ph\u00e0islig team<\/strong> to refine the piece after the first draft.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To apply, please email your proposal to <strong><a href=\"mailto:info@feisphaislig.com\">info@feisphaislig.com<\/a><\/strong> by <strong>Monday 30 September 2025, 5:00pm<\/strong>.
