F\u00e8is Ph\u00e0islig is delighted to have received support from The Mary Janet King Memorial Fund, administered by Foundation Scotland, to help strengthen our Weekly Lessons instrument bank for young learners across Renfrewshire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The funding is supporting the purchase of new accordions, fiddles, instrument accessories, and cases for use within our long-running Weekly Lessons programme, which provides traditional music tuition for children and young people each week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Access to suitable instruments remains one of the biggest barriers for many families when starting music lessons. This support will allow more young people to take part in traditional music activities, regardless of background or financial circumstance, while also helping us replace older instruments that have seen many years of regular use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The new instruments include a range of fiddle sizes for younger learners, ensuring children can begin learning on instruments that are comfortable and appropriate for their age and stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These instruments are already being used by participants within our programme, helping young people build confidence, develop musical skills, and engage with traditional music and Gaelic culture in a supportive environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
