Overview:
Fèis Phàislig, a registered charity dedicated to providing traditional music opportunities for young people in Renfrewshire, is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Finance Administrator for a 6-month short-term position. As a crucial part of our team, the Finance Administrator will contribute to the enhancement of our financial systems and operational efficiency.

Role Summary: The Finance Administrator will play a key role in developing and implementing effective financial systems, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations. Responsibilities include financial monitoring, analysis, and reporting to support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities:

  1. System Development:
    • Collaborate with the Fèis Phàislig Director and Board to implement robust financial systems.
    • Identify and recommend improvements to streamline financial processes.
  2. Compliance:
    • Ensure adherence to financial policies, standard procedures, and regulatory requirements.
    • Conduct internal audits to assess and enhance compliance measures.
  3. Financial Monitoring and Analysis:
    • Monitor financial reports, identify trends, and provide analysis for informed decision-making.
    • Provide insights into financial performance and potential areas for improvement.
  4. Reporting:
    • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, statements, and records.
    • Communicate financial information effectively to internal and external stakeholders.

Person Specification: Essential:

  • Degree level qualification in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in financial management and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of financial policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Pleasant manner, diplomacy, and the ability to build good relationships.
  • Proficient in financial software (e.g., FreeAgent) and MS Office Suite.

Additional useful attributes:

  • A good knowledge of the Fèis movement and community arts across Renfrewshire/Scotland.

  • Fixed-term fee: £3600 + reasonable travel expenses (Based on 225hrs x £16p/h, inclusive of VAT)
