Advanced Band Musicians Spread Joy Across Renfrewshire Care Homes
Over the past term, the talented musicians in our Advanced Band have been spreading joy and music to the residents of care homes across Foxbar, Paisley, Bridge of Weir, Renfrew, and Erskine. Their performances have been brilliant, bringing smiles and warmth to all who had the pleasure of listening.
Led by our dedicated tutor, Ron Jappy, the Advanced Band participants, who attend weekly Saturday classes at West Primary, worked hard to craft a live set they could take on the road. This set featured a mix of group sets and solos, carefully curated to engage the audience and even encourage sing-alongs from the residents.
We extend our deepest gratitude to Montrose Care Home, Mosswood Care Home, Kyle Court Care Home, Bridge of Weir Care Home, Hunterhill Care Home, Renfrew Care Home, and Erskine Care Home for graciously hosting our musicians and providing them with invaluable opportunities to hone their craft and share their passion for music.
None of this would have been possible without the generous grant funding provided by Renfrewshire Council Local Partnership Groups. These funds enabled us to organise the performances as part of a broader initiative aimed at bringing live events and opportunities to all corners of Renfrewshire throughout 2023/24.
As we reflect on the success of this project, we are filled with pride for our talented musicians and gratitude for the supportive community that made it all possible. Here’s to more music, more joy, and more unforgettable performances in the future!
