Our Weekly Lessons programme delivers year-round music tuition for young people across Renfrewshire.

Class Details

Classes take place on Saturday mornings during term time. Participants are offered a mix of online and in-person tuition at Castlehead High School in Paisley. We currently deliver tuition in accordion, fiddle and guitar with newstart places aimed at Primary 5 level (although other age and ability levels will be considered). Don’t worry if you don’t have an instrument – we have a supply of instruments available for hire (click here to find out more). Participants wishing to learn guitar are required to supply their own instrument.

Although no experience is required, participants must have a willingness and desire to learn. All classes will be delivered in a group environment and participants will be expected to achieve weekly targets set by our team. Practise at home is an essential component of any musicians development and a commitment to this is essential for any applicants thinking of joining us. Practice diaries will be utilised to ensure clear targets and records of progress. Events will be held throughout the year to showcase the progress of our young people and give friends and family the opportunity to observe the progress being made.

Price per lesson = £6

  • Term 1 (13 weeks) = £78
  • Term 2 (12 weeks) = £72
  • Term 3 (9 weeks) = £54

We work hard to keep access open to all young people and are fortunate to secure public funding to support our events. Places at our events are subsidised wherever possible with the true cost of each place being much higher.

Full payment for each term is payable in advance and is made through our website.

We have a limited number of fully funded places at our events for pupils entitled to a clothing grant (proof of confirmation required). Tick the relevant box on our application form to make an application to this scheme.
