Funding Success!
We’re thrilled to share that our ASN Traditional Music & Gaelic Programme has been awarded funding from Creative Scotland through the Youth Music Initiative’s Access to Music Making fund.
This exciting new project will run across the 2025–26 school year and bring weekly traditional music sessions to pupils at Riverbrae and Mary Russell Schools in Renfrewshire. Led by the brilliant Seán Gray, the sessions will introduce young people with additional support needs to Scotland’s traditional music and Gaelic culture through inclusive, sensory-friendly activities using Makaton, Gaelic songs, rhythm instruments, and more.
The project also includes training opportunities for two early-career musicians, who will gain hands-on experience supporting inclusive music delivery.
We’ll also be developing new bilingual resources—like Gaelic signage, visual aids, and classroom tools—that will be shared with our schools and beyond.
We’re grateful to Creative Scotland for making this important work possible and can’t wait to get started!
