Fèis Tutors Take the Stage at Celtic Connections
We are absolutely delighted to celebrate our Weekly Lessons tutors who will soon be taking to the stage at Celtic Connections this January.
On 22nd January, our guitar and fiddle tutor Ron Jappy will perform alongside acclaimed harpist Rachel Hair in
Harp Heaven: Rachel Hair & Ron Jappy with Gráinne Brady & Michael Biggins.
Described as “an electrifying duo” (Fatea), Rachel and Ron present a stunning blend of Scottish tradition and contemporary flair. Drawing on Hair’s Highland roots in Ullapool and Jappy’s North-East heritage, their music flows effortlessly from crisp strathspeys and soulful airs to virtuosic reels and driving jigs.
We’re also proud to see Chloë Bryce and Calum McIlroy, alongside accordionist and Fèis Week tutor, Megan MacDonald, performing with their award-winning folk trio Fell Line. They will appear in two festival events:
- É.T.É with Kevin Henderson, Neil Pearlman & Ian Stephenson and Fell Line
22nd January, 7.30pm - In The Tradition
30th January, 7.30pm
In The Tradition brings together a powerful line-up of artists for Celtic Connections, each breathing fresh energy and perspective into traditional music.
With many of our summer Fèis Week Tutors also performing across the festival, there’s plenty to look out for. Be sure to visit the Celtic Connections website to explore the full programme and secure your tickets – and don’t miss the chance to support our brilliant tutors on this incredible stage!
