Provost Honours Gaelic Choir with Medals After Spectacular Mòd Victory
After their triumphant victory at the Royal National Mòd in Oban, Provost Lorraine Cameron paid a special visit to the group.
Our Còisir Ghàidhlig (Gaelic Choir) won 1st prize in the Choral Unison Learner Under-13s competition, taking home the Donald and Mamie MacPhail Trophy, as well as the Darlington Society Silver Jubilee Trophy back in October.
To mark their achievement, Provost Lorraine Cameron presented them each with individual medals. Mairi McGillivray, our choir leader who worked with the group all year in the lead up to their competition was also presented with a medal. We are so proud of our talented young singers for representing the Fèis and Renfrewshire!
The choir has recently grown, welcoming seven new members, and continues to meet every Tuesday evening. Sessions are free for all participants and open to all aged 8-18 with no Gaelic knowledge needed.
A huge thanks to Renfrewshire Council for their ongoing support to make the project possible!
