The Wee Mac Arran Book Festival
Part of the McLellen Book Festival, Wee Mac Arran is a children’s book festival hosted on the Isle of Arran, organised by local book-loving volunteers. Entry is FREE and with something for book lovers of all ages, why not take a day trip to the island and join in the festivities!
The theme for this years festival is Scotland, and features loads of really talented Scottish authors, illustrators and storytellers, including Gaelic author Ceitidh Hutton, who will be reading from her book Grumpa agus na Nàbaidhean Ùra at 11am on the 1st September. This is a wonderful opportunity for children to discover new books and meet the writers behind them. There will be an on-site bookshop, where you can purchase books and get them signed by the authors.
Where: Isle of Arran Living Heritage Museum.
When: 29th August & 1st September 2024 from 11am-3.30pm. The event is timed to allow for a day out on the island with buses meeting the ferry at 10:40am.
Free Entry: Enjoy free access to the children’s festival, spaces may be limited. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
